Instead, she chose to stay, stay silent, and actively lie to cover up severe fractures and burns.
No matter how emotionally blind someone might be in a relationship, choosing to protect a predator over a helpless, innocent life is a conscious act of criminal complicity. Combined with a grandmother who publically normalizes a murder by claiming her son "only stepped" on the baby, it is clear that everyone behind those closed doors is responsible for this tragedy. Silence and enablement are crimes, and everyone involved must face the maximum sentence under the law.
